For the last week and a half Megan from A Blossoming Homestead has been doing a "Staying Home Series" all about the blessings and challenges of being a full time homemaker. She is concluding her series this week with several guest posts of women telling their "stay at home story." I'm happy to be sharing my own story today over at A Blossoming Homestead. Here is an excerpt:
"Growing up I was asked the common question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Of course I came up with several answers over the years, actress, cook, teacher, etc, but I'm not sure full time mommy was ever one of them. I think because my mom worked full time I never gave it much thought. Like most young girls, I graduated high school and went on to college majoring in education. Then about halfway through I began watching the Duggar's and searching out other like minded families. I was so encouraged by them especially by Michelle's gentle spirit. They were different, they were living a slower, simpler lifestyle and really focusing on what matters most in life: God and family…."
