Ultimate Blog Party!

Ultimate Blog Party 2013

This is my third year to participate in the Ultimate Blog Party! If you don't know what it's about and want to find out more click the banner above. If your visiting from the party let me introduce myself.

My name is Missy and I am a sinner saved by grace, who is trying to live a life that glorifies God. I'm married to my best friend and we have one adorable little one year old boy together. I spend my days taking care of our family and home. I enjoy gardening, crocheting, sewing, cooking, painting, reading, hiking and pretty much anything old fashioned.

Here are some more posts to get you started:

Thanks for stopping by!
I can't wait to make some new friends this week!

  5. Hi Missy! Glad to be following along now! I have to find out how the "no soda for a year" is going? I really need to jump on this bandwagon because I drink way too much of it!

    1. It's still going, but it ain't easy. I had half a can of Sprite when I was sick last month, but that's all. It really helps to have a supporting husband. I would have totally cheated by now if it wasn't for him.

  13. Stopping by from UBP13. Your little boy is adorable...I love his blue eyes! I can crochet. Well, I could at one point but I never progressed past the making dishcloth stage. I'll never run out of dishcloths though!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

  15. Stopping by from the UBP13! What a precious little boy you have! My two boys are now young adults and I seriously don't know how that happened. It seems like just yesterday I was wiping snotty noses and bandaging up knees, lol!

When they are young you pray for them and you prayerfully guide them and teach them and you pray for their character, future wives, purity and for them to grow in the Lord. And you set external boundaries in hopes that they will set their own internal boundaries. And you let them fly but fly beneath the to catch them if they fall. And beneath you both are the arms of the Lord.

I have to say that I love the men that my boys have become! My oldest is now engaged to a lovely girl and my youngest is in his second year of college. Both boys are active in our church (my husband is a pastor) and I LIKE them. I not only love them but I like them.

You have precious years ahead, my friend. There will be some rough moments and some exhausting moments, there always are, but just know that the Lord will be walking it with you and His grace and wisdom is there for you!

Now I need to stop writing a book on your blog and go poke around it a bit. Have a lovely day! :)

  17. Hopping through from the UBP13! Aren't they do much fun?!? I think we may have started the UBP around the same time. I think I started 3 years ago... hmmm... Can't remember now. Haha!

Anywho, it looks like we have a lot of things in common! I hope you are doing well with giving up soda. It will be a GREAT thing to keep up with if you can! I didn't make a conscious effort to give up soda like that and I didn't really drink that much (Pepsi lover here) but I changed our diet recently and soda got the ax. You'll save more money not drinking soda. :)

    Take care!
