I want to remember...
the way you suck your thumb and grab the edge of my sleeve while you watch TV,
the way you snuggle close to read books and at the end say, "mo pease?"
I want to remember…
the way you say "mum mum" a million times a day because your obsessed with all things with motors,
the way you look at me and say "Mommy?" while holding up a car because you want to play.
I want to remember…
every little thing about you because one day the precious, adorable and challenging two year old boy in front of me will be nothing but a memory.
I want to remember…
that I took the time to really get to know you and love you.
I want to remember…
that I chose spending time with you over being distracted
because you are what matters, not social media or crossing things off of my to-do list.
My precious little boy turned two last week and I'm doing my best to soak up every little moment that I have with him because I know tomorrow isn't guaranteed and that this phase in life will soon be gone.
Great reminder Missy!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! My girls are grown and my son is 12. I find myself wishing I had been more intentional when they were little instead of so focused on myself. Even though I have a good relationship with them all now I can never get those younger years back. Blessings to you!
