"I Forgot My Phone"

This video says a lot about our tech obsessed culture without saying a word. I hate that this is what kids are growing up with and it makes me wonder if the next generation will resent us for our abuse of technology.

I've been trying to simplify my life lately by getting rid of excess in all areas and really focus on the important things.

What do you think of this video? Can you relate? Do you feel technology is balanced in your life?

  1. Oh man this is a big pet peeve of mine! I don't have a smart phone and although I lament the fact that I want one (all in one device, who wouldn't) I have not taken the plunge for this very reason. I feel like everyone is so busy trying to stay connected and make connections digitally that they forget about real in person contact. Add to that I already have way too many distractions in my life that take me away from my children, I don't want to give myself another one. So I'll stick with my old fashioned cell phone!

    1. Stick with it! Once you get a smartphone it's extremely hard to limit yourself. We've been thinking of going back to regular phones when our contract is up.

  2. Thanks for the eye opening video.'its scary that's this is where we are headed. When I'm at home I never have my phone with me and am busy doing other tasks but when I'm out and bored waiting for something it's tempting to whip out my smartphone. I hate it when special moments are interrupted by people trying to capture it on smartphones!

  3. Very eye opening and sad..we don't have smart phones either and I'm just as happy without one. The saddest part to me is when I see moms texting or talking on their phones while their kids are playing at the park or the mall...or while shopping at the store..instead of engaging their kid in play or conversation.
