Walker is Two Months Old!

My sweet baby is two months old today! I can't believe how much he's grown. He weighs around 13.5 pounds now! We go for his two month appointment next week so we'll get the official weigh in then, but it makes me happy to know that he's gaining so well! It can be nerve racking for a first time nursing mom because you really don't know how much your baby is eating, but apparently he's getting enough.

We switched to size 2 diapers around week five and he's still wearing 0-3 month clothes, but they're starting to get a little tight around the belly and kinda short so we'll be moving up to 3-6 months soon.

He still sleeps through the night. I wake him up sometime between five and six to eat so he gets enough feedings in a day. Naps haven't been so great for us this month. He went through a growth spurt or something around six weeks and he hasn't napped the same since! I gave up trying to get him to nap in his crib so now I just put him in his swing, turn on his sound machine and hope for the best! :)

He really is a good baby, except in the car. He does NOT like the car, but he loves his play mat and bouncy chair. He bats at his toys and is content starting at them for a pretty good amount of time. He also loves being outside. We eat dinner on the front porch a lot so that he stays content while we're eating. He's also started smiling and cooing more this month. We LOVE it when he smiles and "talks" to us!

He also got his first haircut his month! He had a wild and long patch of dark hair on the back of his head that drove me nuts! I finally convinced Mike to let me cut it and it looks soo much better! Especially since the rest of his hair is growing in blonde.

Here's the "routine" that we're currently in:

8:00 am - Wake/Eat/Play
9:30 am - Nap
11:00 am - Wake/Eat/Play
12:30 pm - Nap
2:00 pm - Wake/Eat/Play
3:30 pm - Nap
5:00 pm - Wake/Eat/Play
6:30 pm - Nap
7:30 pm - Bath
8:00 pm - Eat/Sleep for the Night
5:00 am - Eat/Sleep

This looks great on paper, but it doesn't always work out and that's OK. All I can do is stick to it the best that I can and learn to be flexible when I need to be. I can't wait to see how he changes in the next few weeks!

  1. As a mom of teenagers I have forgotten or selectively blocked out the baby years. It is so fun to read your exuberant updates about all things infant! I have to say that I don't remember being that focused on all the little stuff. Of course as my kids told their respective kindergarten classes... "my mommy is mean and she hates children" Yeah I always laugh at my mom of the year award for that one! LOL (didn't actually get that award except in my head)
