Walker is One Month Old!!

My baby boy is one month old today! Yay!

He's still wearing size 1 diapers and 3 month clothes (but not for too much longer). He doesn't have another doctors appointment until the end of May, but Mike and I think he weighs around 11+ pounds.

He's still sleeping and eating like a champ! We've been swaddling him in a swaddle sack every night, but then I started worrying about him rolling over so we only used a blanket last night. I didn't think he would sleep as well unswaddled, but he did great! He still sleeps 7 or so hours at night and eats 6 times a day. We are on a really good routine, but I'm sure as soon as I type this things will change!
Here it is for now:

Between 8 and 9 am wake up and nurse
Playtime and a short nap after
11 am nurse
Playtime
Around 12 pm (when he starts getting fussy) nap time until 3
3 pm nurse
Playtime and about an hour nap
6 pm nurse
Playtime and short nap
8 pm nurse and sleep for the night
Around 4 am nurse and repeat!

I started out with the three hour eating schedule, but Walker wouldn't have it so this is a good routine that works for both of us. I've also been using my Moby wrap to take him to the park. The first few times I put him in it he would stick his head and back straight up and just look at the sky or get upset. I kept trying though and I've been able to go on a few walks with him sleeping in it. The only complaint I have is that it's hot! I want him to like it so that I can take him to the grocery store in it and be hands free. I plan on buying an Ergo once he has good head control. Do you have any baby wearing experience or tips?

I can't wait to see what next month will bring!!

  1. Hi Missy!

My youngest daughter is seven weeks today and I'm using a sling. I carried my older children in the sling for a long time. This time I will try a manduca-carrier. If you like to look picture:

  6. I have to admit, I was never a fan of my Moby. I tried to like it, I really did. I used it for the first month or so, but it was July/August), a pain to get on, and once she started getting bigger I didn't feel as secure with her in it. I have used an Ergo and also heard great things about the Beco Gemini. The Ergo has the infant insert you can use with it.

  7. I just realized I didn't complete my thought in my previous comment :) I meant to say it was July/August so it was VERY hot to wear!
