Starting the Weekend off Right

Normally we eat out on Friday nights, but tonight I actually felt like following the menu plan. I also whipped up a batch of yummy banana bread! Here are my recipes:

Homemade Pizza Crust
2 1/2 cup flour (or 1/2 white 1/2 wheat)
1 tbsp yeast
1tsp salt
4 tbsp olive oil
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp Italian herbs

-mix dry ingredients
-add wet
-knead 5 min.
-spread onto greased pizza pan
-brush with melted butter or olive oil (optional)
-prick dough with fork all the way around
-bake at 375 for 20-25 min.
-add sauce, cheese, and additional toppings
-bake 15 minutes or until cheese is melted

The-Reason-My-Husband-Married-Me
Banana Bread
(at least that's what he told me when he was eating it tonight, ha)

4 very ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup melted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cup flour
pinch of salt
1 tsp cinnamon

-mix butter into bananas
-mix sugar, egg, and vanilla into bananas
-add baking soda, salt, and cinnamon
-add flour
-stir until just mixed
-bake at 350 for 1 hour

This really is a delicious banana bread recipe and the more ripe and mashed your bananas are, the better. Happy Friday everyone!!

  3. Hey Carla! Do you mean a baby quilt? No, I haven't started one. I'm waiting until the holidays are over to start on the nursery. I plan on making a striped quilt though. Do you quilt?
