I taught myself to knit around five years ago and I have yet to finish a project….until today! The red and purple scarves below (with many, many mistakes in them) have been sitting in my knitting basket unfinished for years. *Since taking this picture, I unraveled them because they were simply too sad to complete* The pink scarf, however, I started last year as a Christmas present (I think) and I picked it back up this past week and guess what?!?
I finished it!! I used size 15 needles and a chunky yarn so it would go fast. If I use this yarn again I'll probably only knit it half the width because it's pretty wide around my neck, but I love it! Here's a close up of all my hard work:
I'll never be cold with this on!
How about you? Do you knit/crochet?

I am learning to knit very slowly! I can only knit well in a certain sort of wool though - otherwise I drop and pick up stitches all over the place!
ReplyDeleteMy scarves come out all frilly and they don't show my mistakes!
This is the wool -

Oooo, I love your scarf! Great job! I've started several projects before, but have yet to finish them either. I love to crochet, though. I hope to finish a project soon! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful, Missy! I'd love to learn how to knit one day.
ReplyDeleteJenny- Your scarves look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteEmily - I can only crochet a little bit. I've made two washcloths. :)
Jacina - Thanks! Its really pretty simple once you get the basic two stitches down and Youtube makes things much easier!
Awesome job teaching yourself to knit! It's not easy finishing projects is it? Your scarf looks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! I want to learn how to knit. Do you have a reccomended method of learning? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI just bought a book and read it really slowly ha, but I think watching it on Youtube would be way faster and more effective.
