Guess what? We harvested all of our carrots today! I think they've been ready for awhile, but being the inexperienced gardener that I am it didn't dawn on my to dig them up until today. They are little finger carrots and only suppose to be around 3 inches long, but many of them were much longer. I tried a couple raw and they were a little more bitter than sweet, but I'm hoping they taste better when cooked. Either way, its my first harvest!! (Besides our peas which were so few I couldn't do anything with them.)
What are you harvesting in your garden right now?
Congratulations!! Just yesterday I harvested half a handful of purple green beans from the garden!! It's so exciting once you start actually getting produce! I don't know if you read Pioneer Woman, but here is a recipe from her site for roasted carrots http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/11/roasted-carrots-by-pastor-ryan/ This recipe is so good!!
