Simple Cleaning Schedule

I keep my pretty house tidy and organized, however when it comes to actually cleaning it (i.e. dusting, scrubbing, vacuuming) I kinda just wait until the mood hits. I don't let things get too out of hand, but I'm not really particular about keeping my surfaces and floors perfectly spotless. Now when it comes to clutter lying around that really gets on my nerves, but dirt doesn't bother me so much. However, in an effort to instill good cleaning habits for when I have children I am implementing a simple cleaning schedule that is as follows:

Monday: Laundry (Sheets every two weeks)
Tuesday: Floors (Vacuum, Sweep, Mop)
Wednesday: Bathroom
Thursday: Kitchen
Friday: Dust and De-Clutter

  1. Great idea! You are like me, I love to organize-hate to clean. I actually just got done scrubbing my kitchen down!

    Have a great week!

  2. Yea I tend to procrastinate when it comes to wiping and scrubbing, but my new schedule seems to be working for me so far. :)

  4. Ugh...routines are SOOO hard for me to keep on track with...I tried this once before inspired by Emilie Barnes...but my first attempt failed. I will try again...but for now, my goals are to simplify and declutter as many rooms as possible before our little Miss gets here (in 8 weeks!!!). So far, I've accomplished the tv cabinet, the laundry room, and some of my kitchen cabinets, and my cleaning cabinet. I still have much to do, but am making a definite dent. It's INCREDIBLE how much "stuff" that isn't necessary collects in corners and cabinets to be long forgotten and taking up precious space (and my hubby and I have only been married 3 1/2 years!! Thanks for the new inspiration and blessings as you embark on your wonderful new cleaning routine!!!
