They may not be the prettiest biscuits you ever saw, but they're definitely the best tastin' ones I've ever made! I'm pretty proud of myself because normally when I make biscuits they turn out like hockey pucks. This time I used the recipe on the Homestead Blessings Cooking DVD. Yay for the West Ladies! I even got to use the buttermilk I made yesterday with my butter. Here's the recipe (I adapted it to what I had on hand):
Homemade Biscuits
2 cups white flour
2 cups fine wheat flour
8 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
approx. 1 1/2 sticks softened butter
approx. 1 cup buttermilk
Mix dry ingredients
Incorporate butter with hands until crumbly
Add small amounts of buttermilk and knead until a soft dough is formed
Roll out to about 1 inch thickness and cut (I used a cup)
Bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees
I can cross this off my list now too!! :)

This recipe sounds good too! I just sent you my biscuit recipe on fb. Let me know if you try it. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a good recipe. I haven't tried adding buttermilk. I got a recipe off of the back of a self rising dough package and they came out like dog bicuits lol! I'll try this recipe next time.
