I thought I'd give you a tour of our (newly) de-cluttered bedroom. Unfortunately I don't have before pictures, but I'll try and give you an idea of what it looked like before my purging spree started.
Here's our bed. We used to have more clutter on the nightstands (larger pictures, a jewelry box, alarm clock, weather radio, etc.), but we got rid of all that and bought matching candles from the dollar tree to make it look unified. It's pretty yet simple and it makes me happy. The canvas and candles are the only things on our walls in the whole room and I like it that way.
Here is our dresser. We used to have a small TV that we never turned on and a huge candelabra, but we got rid of them and I got a basket to hold Mike's keys, wallet, phone, etc.
We also used to have a rocking chair and a whole bunch of clutter in this corner which has since been removed. I've noticed that if you have an item that attracts clutter (the rocking chair) removing it will help to keep things clutter free.
Here is the other side of the bed that also used to have a rocking chair, but now it's gone.
Here is my newly organized nightstand drawer. I bought these plastic containers from the Dollar Tree (2 for $1).
Here's my closet. It's pretty much always looked like this except with more clothes in it. Also, I used to have my jewelry hanging on a cork board, but Mike put this coat rack on the back of my closet door so I can hide it.
We also have a dog cage at the foot of the bed, but that's it. We had a keyboard set up there too, but now it's stored under our bed.
Well, that's our room! It's so much easier to keep picked up now that it's clutter free and I feel so much more relaxed in it.
What do you think?
I hope you can come back tomorrow and see how I've organized the "clutter zones" in the rest of my house!
Looks great! I bet you are happy to get all that extra stuff out of there. I'm in a de-clutter mode myself and need to work on our office and bedroom too!
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I feel so much better when things have a place then it becomes a room you actually want to spend time in. It looks great and I love your painting on the wall, great job!!

This gives me hope! I have yet to unpack my room (Moved in July 1st)and I have no clue what to do with anything. I'm usually a very OCD Organized person, but it's definitely hard when it's everything all at once.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think i'll start up on it tomorrow..
