My seedlings are a month old! Yay! They're a little bit wilted today because I forgot to turn their lights on and its pretty warm in our house. I watered them with Epsom salt water and opened the window for them so they should perk up soon.
Also I bought a set of Yukon Gold seed potatoes to plant:
And there's life in the garden! I counted 5-6 sprouts that came up today! (I hope these are actually vegetables and not weeds ha.)
Also I went to the farmer's market and bought a dozen fresh eggs. I didn't look at them until I got home, but the shells are all different pastel colors. I'm not sure if they have the chickens that lay these eggs all the time or if they gave them a specific diet to make the shells colored, but they're pretty! Not much else is in season here yet expect spinach. I can't wait until there is more local and fresh produce available!

Yay for sprouts!! Our sprouts we planted aren't quite a month old yet. We're making mini greenhouses for them soon so they can get outside and get some sun. I also have sprouts in the garden!! Its amazing how small seeds are, but how quickly they grow! I was thinking about having chickens in the future, and did some research. They actually have Easter egg chickens that lay different colored eggs! I'm unsure of the breed though! Definitely a pretty cool thing though!
ReplyDeleteWe are still a little behind on the sprouts but hopefully the plant lights will help...The chickens are Ameraucana chickens...
ReplyDeletehappy birthday, sprouts! Thank you for your "little" post on the barn hop!
ReplyDeleteMy dads chickens lay pale green eggs. It is mainly dependent on the breed and has nothing to do with diet! Sunlight can also change the pigment even in a very short amount of time.
